The World Micronational Chess Federation, or WMCF, is the international governing body for chess in the micronation sector. It is responsible for conducting the Micronational World Chess Championship, as well as regulating other chess matches and measuring the ratings of micronationalist chess players.
The World Micronational Chess Federation has announced an emergency World Chess Championship will take place before the end of December 2023 to resolve the vacancy left in the position by the collapse of the Inter-Micronational Chess Federation in 2014. You can read the relevant Ordnance here.
Micronationalists may participate in the WMCF if they have a valid Lichess.org account in good standing and have a MicroWiki article about them. MicroWiki articles that are draft proposals count as articles.
Instructions for registering in WMCF events, including the World Championship, will be announced soon.
The WMCF intends to expand its event roster on a going basis, but at the moment the organisation's priority is resolving the vacancy in the position of World Chess Champion.
That question is answered on our page about ratings.
